Character art
Set in a dark fantasy world, the game demanded a protagonist that contrasted with the grim environment. I avoided the typical ‘slender hero’ archetype and focused on a rounded, stout silhouette to convey resilience. This shape inspired the name “Torc”, the Irish word for “wild boar”, which perfectly represents his courage and ferocity. The Celtic-inspired setting also informed his weapon of choice, a traditional shillelagh, a motif I subsequently incorporated into the project’s current logo.
Animation
The game is currently in development using the Godot Engine, with all character animations created in Spine 2D.
